Many of us have heard the lyrics to the popular song, “I believe the children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside…” I am sure that many of us believe these lyrics to be true and want to see them remain reality in this society that we live in.
Detroit Young Life, a non-profit 501(c)3 agency, works tirelessly to make these lyrics a reality in the lives of urban youth every day. Young Life seeks to carry the message of Jesus Christ into the lives of youth and strives to point them toward life as they were created to live it. Since 1941, the dynamic that has characterized Young Life is its commitment to relationships – Young Life leaders meeting kids on their turf in the interest of demonstrating the love of our Savior.
As with most non-profit agencies during these tough economic times, funding is scarce and the need is great! We need your support more than ever to maintain and expand this ministry and our aspirations to make an impact in the lives of youth everywhere! On November 10, 2008, we will be hosting our annual fundraiser, “All Jazzed Up ”. This will be an evening filled with fellowship, jazz, and food. The event will be held at 6:00 pm at The Upper Room Christian Entertainment Complex, located at 23821 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48219. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the services offered by Detroit Young Life.
We are asking that in support of Detroit’s youth that you please consider purchasing tickets to our fundraiser , being a patron by giving a $100 donation, or making a donation of your choice to this much needed ministry. Your financial support is greatly appreciated and will assist us in making great strides in helping us to continue to change the lives of our youth.
