Marion Jones gives Winfrey post-prison interview (683 hits)

In this photo released by Harpo Productions, Inc., former Olympic medalist Marion Jones, left, is shown with talk-show host Oprah Winfrey during taping of the "The Oprah Winfrey Show," in Chicago on Oct. 24, 2008. Jones' appearance on the show airing Wednesday, Oct. 29 will be the disgraced track star's first interview since she was released Sept. 5 from a Texas federal prison after completing most of her six-month sentence for lying about steroid use.

Chicago, IL -- Disgraced track star Marion Jones says she often thinks she would have won gold medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics even if she hadn't taken performance-enhancing drugs.

Jones gave her first post-prison interview on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" broadcast Wednesday.

Jones says she made a mistake by lying to prosecutors when they showed her a designer steroid and asked if she'd taken it. She maintains she thought it was flaxseed oil when her coach gave it to her.
