“And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29)
People pray and fast for many reason: move of God; miracles; healing; clarity; missing the mark; weight loss; prosperity and much more. There is a call in this hour to pray and fast for our President Barack Obama, who I call the “Chosen One.” There is no doubt that President will need our praying and fasting in this hour because he is the First President to inherit a nation with such desperation and problems. We need a healing in our land!
So, the question comes in this hour: “Ask not what your country (President/.Leadership) can do for you; ask what you can do for your country?” Ask, how one fits into the scenario of the Ministry of Helps. Ask, how do I as an individual make a difference? We know that there are many ways that we can have a positive input from our homes, churches, organizations, jobs, businesses, political involvement and more; yet what we all can do collectively from wherever we are in the world is prayer and fasting. II Chronicles 7:14 says: “If my people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” Praying and Fasting will makes a difference in our world, and I know that President Obama being a Christian knows quite well about praying and fasting; because I believe it took all that and many of us doing the same, for him to become President of the United States. I believe in my sanctified mind that President Obama had read and knew the meaning of praying and fasting, that Isaiah the prophet talked about in chapter 58.
