Now that we are in the New Year, I know that many of you have new goals and aspirations you are working towards completing this year. As your move forward with your plans, I want to share with you 10 Characteristics that Guarantee Success. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that if you implement these ten characteristics, you are truly guaranteed to see immediate success results.
These characteristics have come from me watching many women who are successful and seeing the same pattern in each one of them. After focusing on them in my own life, I began to see immediate business and personal success. So, I stand by these ten characteristics.
As always, we must begin with our definitions:
Characteristic:
1. defining feature: a feature or quality that makes somebody or something recognizable.
Root word Character:
1. distinctive qualities: the set of qualities that make somebody or something distinctive, especially somebody's qualities of mind and feeling.
2. positive qualities: qualities that make somebody or something interesting or attractive.
3. reputation: somebody's public reputation.
Guarantee:
1. assurance: something that assures a specific outcome.
If you will grab hold of each of the following distinctive qualities and apply them to your life, you will being to see an explosion of success.
# 1 - Be Determined
Determination brings clarity. Discovering your purpose and destiny definitely brings clarity to your life. When you know what you are put on this earth to do, you must be determined to see your dreams, goals or vision come to fruition.
# 2 - Be Confident
I define self-confidence as this -- to take possession of yourself. That's it! When you own something and have proof that it's yours, no one or nothing can take that thing away from you. That's what self-confidence is -- self-ownership. Be confident in yourself, your product, your mission - more than anything, be confident in God.
# 3 - Be Fearless
You cannot be in business or ministry and be a coward. It just will not work. You must be fearless and ready to take on challenges when they arrive. (Notice, I said 'when' they arrive.) Challenges will come. But you must choose a position of fearlessness in order to overcome them.
# 4 - Be Authentic
People know when you are not fully being yourself. The worst thing you could ever do is duplicate someone else. God made you a unique, one of a kind, gifted treasure. No one is like you in all the earth. You have something very special within you to offer the world, but we will never see it s long as you are trying to be someone else. Let the real YOU shine through!
# 5 - Be Firm
In order to be successful you must have tough skin at times, and you must be able to stand firm in your decisions. It's okay to get constructive criticism from those around you, but you must not be a push-over and allow people to dictate the direction of your life, goals, dreams and aspirations.
# 6 - Be Teachable
Life lessons can be learned from both good and bad situations. I often tell people I learned how to be a good leader by learning what no to do from bad leaders. Life's lessons are all around you. Take time to see, learn and grow from them.
# 7 - Be Forgetful
To be successful, you must have short-term memory. When you fail at something learn from it and move on. Don't dwell on it. Remember, just because you failed at something, it does not make you a failure. Use your failings as stepping stones to take you to another level.
# 8 - Be Protective
Your desired success result is a gift from God. He put that desire or vision in you. You must protect it at all costs. Do not let any rob you of what's important to you. Be careful who you share your dreams, goals and aspirations with.
# 9 - Be Present
Your full presence is required to achieve success. Ninety-nine percent of your efforts just won't do it. You must give 100% towards your success. When you give less that 100% you miss out on very important preparation and plans that will get you to the next level. You must be fully committed to manifesting your desired success results.
# 10 - Be Prepared
When you're committed to your dreams, they will come to fruition, but only if you're prepared to receive it. Think of the end results you'd like to see. Based on your end results, list things you need in place before your dreams, goals or vision come true, and make it happen by fully preparing to receive it.
