Often when I talk to clients about their personal vision, I ask, "What is your vision for your life?" We all have a vision for our future. Some visions are grand and others are not. Regardless of the size of your vision, what matters the most is that your vision is real to YOU! There is a Law of Vision that states, "If you can't see it, you can't have it." Your vision is insight into your future. You must see it before you possess it.
God told Abram in Genesis 13: 14-15, "Lift up now your eyes and look from the place where you are... For the land which you see I will give to you and your posterity forever." Remember, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. If He told Abram to look from the place he was, He also wants you to look from the place you are.
The truth of the matter is, we all should have a vision for our lives. A place where we are going to possess. So now I pose the question to you, "What is your vision for your life?" Once you've received the vision for your life in your spirit and soul [mind, will, emotions] you will need to create a vision board.
Material:
Pen
Paper
Poster
Magazines
Scissors
Glue Stick
Index Cards
Once you have all of your material together, here is what you do:
Write your vision on a piece of paper. Get as detailed as possible.
Search for pictures that represent your vision in magazines.
Cut out the pictures and glue them onto the poster.
On an *index card, write the name of that goal and corresponding action steps you will take to achieve it. Then glue the postcard under the corresponding picture.
*Index card options include putting affirmations or corresponding scriptures on your cards.
Once your poster board is filled up, here is what you should do:
Put it in a place where you can visit it often (preferably daily).
Set aside 15 minutes each day to look at your vision board.
Read your index cards and see yourself as if you are already living in that vision.
Pray and ask God to give you wisdom, knowledge, insight and guidance to make your vision a reality.
