“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 KJV)
Many have stood and fully owned the spiritual fact that we are a nation under God; yet in our humanness we have wondered if we were ever inclusive in our nation because there were no CLUES (SIGNS, hint; trace, suggestion, indication, pointer, lead, tip, evidence, information, advice, key, answer) to go by. As we look through the Bible we see clues/evidence after clues/evidence how the people of God left evidence of God’s successes/victories for the generations to come; so that they too would maintain and carry the successes/victories from generation to generation. CLUES/SIGNS in the Greek in Mark 16:17 means: miracles with an ethical end and purpose. They are valuable not so much for what they are as for what they indicate of the grace and power of the doer or of his immediate connection with a higher spiritual world. It also means mighty works, great works, glorious works admirable works, DUNAMIS POWER: Able to knock hell out of hell! My, my, my, that’s another Nugget!
I believe that the day President Barack Obama was sworn in he left Clues/Signs for those who have felt rejected and not accepted as human beings down through the years. In that moment many believed I am and can be a part of the American Dream: I am truly a product of “Success Leaves Clues.”
