My lover spoke and said to me, "Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. (Song of Solomon 2:10-11)
Sometimes it seems like winter will never end--and not just the weather. There is a coldness that grows inside us too, love frozen by disappointment, hope chilled by hurt.
And yet the Lover comes by morning, calling us Darling, kissing our lips with the rise of the sun, urging us to reach for the invincible, unending summer somewhere inside.
Though it's not convenient or warm, let us get up today and follow Him, proclaiming in spite of our spiritual temperature that winter is past and rains gone.
Father God, please bless every person on the network today with some of your Son shine. May everything that has been lost be restored, everything broken be made whole. May we shine...in spite of ourselves.
In Jesus name, amen.
