Seeking Bride by Marilyn Griffith (37 hits)

"All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him." (Song of Solomon 3:1, NIV)

In Song of Solomon 1 and 2, the king calls his bride to join him in the village, in the fragrant grasses and hills. When he doesn't return, she decides to go and find him this time.

She goes out into the city, past the watchman and searches until she finds him.

Are we such a determined bride? Or do we wait, day after day, for the kisses of Christ's grace, sweet upon us? Sometimes, it's like that.
Simple. Easy.

Other times, it's not so easy. Sometimes, we have to get a little crazy and let people see us looking up and down. It's not that God is hiding, but sometimes rather that we are looking in all the wrong places.

God's eyes go to and fro in the earth, searching for someone for Him to show Himself strong to. May you be that bride today, full of faith, eyes fixed on your goals, leaving a trail of kept promises behind you.

Have a blessed and searching day!

PS. If you missed last night's call (or couldn't hear!) it's now streaming on the network in a player on the top left.
