God Keeps Away the Lonelies (60 hits)

I believe it was Alicia Keys who sang the song, “Never Felt This Way”. It’s such a beautiful song, and in 2001, it expressed what I wanted in a relationship. I wanted to be with someone who wanted to be with me. I wanted to love someone whose arms could "keep away the lonelies". And when I didn't have that in my life, I had a pain I couldn't express or explain to anyone. Loneliness is a real experience; it hurts in places we never thought we had.

It's a part of our nature as human beings to crave companionship, to long for human interaction, even the interaction between the opposite s*x. As a single person, we have the opportunity to seek the Lord ever the more, but our relationship with God does not answer all of our needs for a hug, or an ear to listen or a person to understand our human experience.

We desire someone with whom we can share our life's mission and purpose. Adam didn't just need a woman; he needed someone to work with him in accomplishing the work God had assigned to him. That's what we crave. We crave someone who will tackle life's challenges with us. We want someone who will share inside jokes with us. We need someone who will love us so much, that it's easy to be ourselves, and accept things about ourselves we never thought we'd be able to do.

It would have been easy for God's response to Adam while he was alone to be, "But you have Me! What more do you need?" But God is wise. He knew Adam needed more, and He knows you need more too!

God understands our need to walk through life with a partner. I believe He understands it so much, that he's created a man to meet your needs of companionship, because the only thing that can solve the problem of you being alone is to bring a life partner into your life. Now, I know that in the Christian community, there is a prevailing understanding that there aren't enough men for the women. I just don't believe this! If I did, I wouldn't have expected to meet and marry the man I love with all my heart right now.

I don't believe in a God who would be so callus as to create so many beautiful princesses in the kingdom of God, without any princes to marry. If God needed to bring revival to the entire world to bring together the men and women in his kingdom, He would, and He will. No matter how God is going to solve the situation, He is not worried, and neither am I. I know God has already provided a way for you to stop being alone. I invite you to believe in it as well, and begin to talk to God about your case of the "lonelies". That's what brought change to my life, and it will bring change to your life as well.
