Hello All,
Here is a question: "Are you eating to live, or living to eat?" You see when a person is "eating to live" in this context, they are making ends meat, working day to day to help out their families, themselves, or others to survive, even in this recession time. They have enough to get by and may be they are content right now, but that soon can change. Spiritually, they may 'eat the fish and throw away the bones' as they grow in the Lord. Or if someone does not understand something, they put that situation on the "shelf" until they can find help, or answers to that situation. (Food for thought) Generally speaking.
On the other hand, when you are "living to eat" you may have money that you have worked very hard and earned, and you can afford to eat out. Your finances are in order and it's all good. All is well - It's all good! No offense. But this does not apply to everyone.
Listen, for some folk, they "live to eat." They have too much in resources or money, and they keep all to themselves, not sharing or giving, or proving help to others out in hard times or difficult situations. They even petition the government, and lobby for more loans, requesting for more money for businesses (stockholders), while others (employees) lose their jobs. Just being to self-exist, or better yet, "selfish!" Hey, that may be your right. No offense! But if you're offended, good! Even Jesus went into the Temple and dealt with the merchants and money chargers, those folk who were cheating the people, among other things. I believe that God wants us 'all' to come together on one accord to help one another. That is why we are to tithe 10% of our gross income/ earnings to help one another. It is sad, because some folk will not tithe, give, or anything. They are not good or wise stewards over the monies they do have or earned. It's no wonder why other things and addictions for some, consume our time and monies.
As we take care of the things of God - the Church (we, the Christians are the church), God will provide and take care of our needs. We will all have to take in account of what we do, or did not do in this life, for the sake of the Gospel. As for me, I enjoy serving and helping people "when and if" I can. I give of my tithes, alms, and time to my church literally, and to others. I had many life changing, even traumatic experiences to know who He is and how to appreciate who God really is in my life. God is FAITHFUL! There are many people, and God is waiting patiently on us. I am very, very thankful that God is in my life both to will and do His purpose through me to help and aid others.
So I again ask, "Are you eating to live, or living to eat?" Hey, this is just my question and my opinion, you decide!
