Stop-a-doodle doo (50 hits)

34"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."

Peter couldn't believe it. How could Jesus say something like that? Wasn't he the one who walked on water, the one who believed enough to come? And to say that he'd give it up so quickly well...

Jesus knew well what was in man, especially the man called Peter. He knows about our rooster moments long before they happen. He knows...and he loves us anyway.

In a society that hates failure, it's hard to admit that we miss it, but we can take comfort in knowing how Jesus treated one of his best failures--Peter. Hang in there, Sis. Let God roll the stone away from your heart this resurrection week. (I'm being shaken myself).

Father God,
We thank you that even in our failures, you speak future. You warn us so that we can do better, but forgive us when we don't. Help us to walk in straight line, moving past the crowing places of our past. Help us.

In Jesus' name, Amen
