As I was thinking about writing a mid-week inspiration this week, I thought about an interview I saw last year with rapper Lil' Wayne. (Yep, that's right... Lil' Wayne.) In this interview he said something that made so much sense and every time I think of it, it really is a great key to success.
When asked why he was so successful, he said... (paraphrase)
Everybody is always trying to be different.
My success is not in being different, but it is in being me.
Then he encouraged the audience saying...
Don't try to be different, because in being different you'll be like everybody else.
Just be you. When you be you, then you'll be different.
If you don't know who Lil' Wayne is, he is an urban rapper whose rapping style is very unique and different. Personally, I'm not a fan but when my nieces and nephews listen to the radio, I always know who Lil' Wayne is because is sound is very different and unique.
So, today I want to encourage you today by this lesson from rapper Lil' Wayne. When you consider those things that you desire to do with your business, ministry or any endeavor, don't try to be different... just be YOU! Be true to yourself, your beliefs and personal convictions. In being you, you'll find a YOU'nique quality that only YOU can give!
