One Step at a Time from QuelynnInc (115 hits)

Hello ladies -

I know that many of you are embarking upon this credit repair trip that we are taking. I also know that when you look at your initial debt, it may seem very overwhelming. Well, let me share a quick story with you.

When I worked at a local YMCA, our business/accounting office decided that we would embark upon our own "The Biggest Loser" contest. I decided that I would participate in the challenge. Although my participating was not for weight loss, it was for general improvement of health, I had no idea what I was in for initially.

We went through gruesome tests in the beginning so that at the end of the eight weeks we would see how we improved on weight loss, stamina, endurance, reach, etc. It was so hard! Some of our first group exercises included walking down and up the block where our building was on.

Going down the street was easy, because it was a decline. However, going back up the street was very hard work. I remember seeing most of my co-workers pass me feeling so discouraged because the end seemed so far away. As I saw more people pass me, God gently whispered and told me to look at next block on the sidewalk. I did. Then He said, "Now look at that tree ahead of you." I did. Then it was on to the fire hydrant. I kept my eyes on that fire hydrant until I made it. Then on to the next marker. Before I knew it, I was at my goal (the top of the hill with my co-workers).

Sometimes looking at the big picture can be overwhelming, especially when people are passing us along the way. All we have to do is change our focus along the journey. Stop looking too far ahead that you get overwhelmed, and stop looking at people feeling left behind. Set you eyes on the small goals and literally take it one step at a time.

Start with the smallest bill on your credit report and pay it. Then move to the next, and the next, and the next. Before you know it, you will have paid so many bills and improved your credit you will be amazed!

As always, I'm here to encourage you along the way. Remember to be encouraged and empowered as you build towards your asset status.
