“Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, and above that we are able to ask or think, according to the power that worketh within.”~ Ephesians 3:20
There is a virus that is rapidly increasing in the body of Christ. There is plaque in the universe that is damaging people worldwide. There is a disease that’s causing many individuals to become sick.
It is not cancer, diabetes or the HIV virus. It is the infection of mediocrity. Mediocrity – it is the disorder of ones destiny. It is an illness that attacks one’s inspiration and motivation. It is the complaint of ones’ creativity. It is the bug that eats away at ones’ belief. It is the negative syndrome that eats away at ones success.
Mediocrity is the state or quality of being ordinary and average. It is ones acceptance of being barely adequate. As believers, we should strive for excellence. With Christ as our guide, we can do all things. Endeavor to do more than the norm. Challenge yourself to take on projects that will stretch you beyond your comfort zone. Don’t count on yourself, but count on God to push you toward a “higher calling” in Christ Jesus. No matter what you do, or where you reside, as Christians, we are to strive for excellence. Try hard to achieve.
Make every effort to accomplish great things. Do your best to succeed. In the words of an anonymous writer, “Nothing beats a failure but a try.” Take a chance on being extraordinary. Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world. You’ve got power with God. Physician, heal thyself. Break the cycle of mediocrity today!
