What's love got to do with all the resentment, bitterness and need for vengeance? We have really started to use the word "love" so casually that we really don’t realize what we’re saying . . . it’s as general as a "hello" or a "good-bye". But, to go a little deeper, it also is an indication that for some people in this world, "love" has been a negative experience, and negativity infiltrates the heart. There are some who have experienced love in the form of emotional abuse, domestic violence, s*xual abuse. But remember, sisters, you are still royalty – Spiritual DIVAs!
Sometimes men and women extend what they call "love" with ill intentions. They will tell you they love you not because they have a heart for you, but because they have another agenda. After they accomplish whatever that agenda is, they don’t want anything to do with you. They’ve gotten your money, your time, your energy, your heart and even your body, all under the auspices of love, and it leaves you feeling rejected, hurt and abused with raging emotions of vengeance. Once our emotions take over, an island of retaliation lies in our hearts, causing a rippling effect in the waves of our mind which trickles down to streams of ungodly desires and events that catapult us into episodes of drama, in recompense for another’s actions or in validation of ourselves.
I won’t allow vengeance to overtake me
That’s not what DIVAs are made to be
What’s love got to do with it? The dirt that one seeks on another
What’s love got to do with it? Vengeance on that brother
What’s love got to do with it? Resentment towards a sister
What’s love got to do with it? Jealousy and rejoicing in the setbacks of her
What’s love got to do with it? Tearing people’s reputations down
What’s love got to do with with all these things?
Here’s the answer: NOTHING!!
