The Vault is Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment's (SAFE) newsletter published to keep you informed regarding our impact in the community.
As you may know, October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. There are many awareness activities planned for October in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Inside this edition of "The Vault" I have listed many events that SAFE is sponsoring or participating in. We are really excited about the upcoming SAFE Health and Wealth Expo (Details are below)! Don't forget to visit the Expo website at

www.newsafestart.org. There are many exciting things happening at SAFE! I will be a presenter, on behalf of SAFE, at the Allstate Foundation and National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) 2008 Economic Empowerment Conference in Washington, DC, this November. SAFE has launched its online newsletter for clients, "Equity", which provides survivors of domestic violence with information and resources. Also, SAFE has recorded its first radio show on its own Internet based radio station, Click to Hear SAFE Radio. Look for future issues of "The Vault" and "Equity" for more SAFE announcements!
SAFE assists survivors of domestic violence through specialized training focused on gaining or building the skills needed to reenter the workforce; obtain higher paying positions; as well as managing their finances to break the cycle of economic abuse.
