There's Hope in the Midst... of Your Storm! (2002 hits)

What a refreshing anointing I felt as I listened intently to the message of the day! Recently, I went to visit Greater Saint Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church where Pastor Debra Morton preached on “Oh the Glory-Be Not Weary!” Hallelujah Lord! My God, My God!

She used the scripture reference: Galatians 6:9 which reads: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” When you get the chance study these scriptures for greater understanding: I Corinthians 4:6-16, Titus 1:16, Matt. 5:16, Luke 6:27-28, 35, Isaiah 40 & key verses 29-31.

How many times do we constantly do what we feel are the right things-in our relationships, on the job, and even with our children-but we keep thinking that things are just not working out right? Then we give the devil the unction or the right to have full access into our affairs-because we get weary-or faint at heart (exhausted spiritual and mentally) -letting the devil wreak havoc over our lives. But in times like these, we are to not FAINT! Keep fighting the good fight of faith!

During this time of hearing from God through the powerful anointing of this pastor, I also started reminiscing over the next non-fiction manuscript that I’m presently working on entitled-There’s Hope for the Weary-Affirmations of Love From Your Father. There I bring to light our plights as a people who may go through trying times, but longingly need some assurance and a reminder of God’s goodness and His promises.

Here’s a sample from my new book-There’s Hope for the Weary…Please be inspired!

In His Love,

Lily

There’s Hope for the Weary-Preface

How many times have you gone through life only to have thrown to you lemons instead of lemonade? During your plight and hardship, have you found yourself feeling like there’s no hope for tomorrow. Maybe even you feel like no one could be going through the trials you are faced with, and no matter who you call, no one seems to have the right answers for what you need in your life-leaving you feeling hopeless and weary.

That’s when you need to rest on the fact that God loves you and cares about your many concerns. He has specifically told us to be anxious for nothing and to cast all of our care on Him, for He cares for us. Pay attention to these scripture references; they are truly profound and relevant for us today.

Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31) (KJV)

It also says in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Isn’t that a wonderful promise and assurance that God indeed has our backs? If we would stop trying to handle things our way, and trust that God has everything under control and that in His timing, He will turn a tragedy into triumph! Never underestimate the power of our God. He can do everything, but fail!

There is hope for the weary. Continue to keep the faith and run on, even when you get weary. Just remember that the more opposition or stress the devil creates in your life, it is just setting you up for more blessings in your life. You have to take the promises and affirmations of love from your Father, hold onto them, and never let go.

Prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you before your throne of grace saying thank you for these mighty men and women of God, who have come, hoping that they can find solace amidst anguish and despair in their lives. But you, oh God, have set before us your promises, and grace during our times of storm. Help us oh God, to lean not to our own understanding, but in all thy ways, acknowledge You, for only You will direct our paths. As my brothers and sisters read these words of love from You, bless them this day, and touch them in a way as to provoke something deep within their spirit to be consumed with your love and admiration for them. Shower them from on high, my Father. Never will they be the same. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.
